We Still Have Elections to Win This Year

by Stephan Tawney on January 25, 2011

Just because the midterms are over and the presidential election is more than a year away doesn’t mean we’re done with consequential elections until next year. Several states hold their state-level and local elections in off-years. And those are just as important to win as congressional counterparts.

Here’s a list of major elections this year.

Gubernatorial Races

  • Louisiana
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • West Virginia

State-wide Officers

Lieutenant Governors, secretaries of state, state treasurers, auditors…many different state-wide officers will be elected in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Mississippi. Keep in mind that secretaries of state hold significant power over elections. So they’re quite important.

Legislative Elections

Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia all hold state legislative elections this November.

Judicial Elections

We have a change to stop activist judges in Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. All this year.

Ballot Measures

Multiple states will be voting on a wide array of ballot measures.
