Wow.
Global warming: Is there anything it can’t do?
Seriously, there are many factors behind the violence. There’s high unemployment and extreme poverty (half of Egyptians live on less than $2 a day). And there’s the fact that Mubarak has been locking up opponents, making unfriendly media types disappear, and generally oppressing his people for three decades.
All of this has been boiling for decades, and now — between the success of revolution in Tunisia and Egyptians won over after witnessing their fellow countrymen shot and killed by Mubarak’s thugs — it’s starting to boil over the top. How what we’re witnessing came to be is actually quite easy and straightforward to explain.
But hey, let’s blame my SUV and American manufacturers. Because that helps advance the narrative that anything bad that happens is the result of insufficient government action on global warming which may or may not actually be happening.
So ludicrous and yet so predictable.
