The States Which Sued — and Won

by Stephan Tawney on January 31, 2011

No fewer than 26 states were responsible for the lawsuit that resulted in ObamaCare being stricken down today. They were:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Iowa
  • Indiana
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Michigan
  • Mississippi
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • North Dakota
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming

While Virginia was not party to the Florida lawsuit, it previously sued — and won — on its own. Back on December 13th, Federal Judge Henry Hudson ruled in Virginia’s favor, striking down the same individual mandate which resulted in ObamaCare being invalidated today.
