AUSTIN, TEXAS (BNO NEWS) -- An aircraft carrying Texas First Lady Anita Perry experienced a landing gear failure on Saturday, the office of Governor Rick Perry said on Sunday.
Perry's office said in a statement that the incident happened at around 1 p.m. local time on Saturday at Jardin Ranch Airport, north of the city of Laredo in Webb County. It involved a World War II B-25 aircraft.
"[The aircraft] experienced a landing gear malfunction while taxiing for takeoff at the Jardin Ranch, north of Laredo," the statement said. "The aircraft reached the end of the runway where the front landing gear collapsed, causing the right engine to catch fire."
Perry's office said emergency crews quickly extinguished the flames and Anita Perry as well as two executive protection bureau agents were evacuated from the aircraft. There were no injuries.
The vintage bomber was performing at a small air show in Encinal, Texas.
