LONDON (BNO NEWS) -- British police are searching for an unidentified gunman after two people, including a five-year-old girl, were seriously injured in a shooting at a shop in London.
Scotland Yard said police were called to reports of shots fired at the Stockwell Food & Wine shop in south west London on Tuesday evening, at approximately 9.15 p.m. local time. The London Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.
"Emergency services found a five-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man suffering from gunshots wounds," a police spokesperson in the British capital said on Wednesday. "They were both taken to a south London hospital. Their conditions are described as critical but stable."
Police said the victims are not related and have not made any arrests as of Wednesday. "It is too early to speculate as to the circumstances and officers are keeping an open mind regarding motive," the spokesperson said. "Inquiries are continuing."
