CNN reports that 159 people are now confirmed dead as a result of the southern storms over the past two days. That includes 128 confirmed dead in Alabama alone.

Update: It’s now 173 confirmed dead throughout 5 states. The governor of Alabama is warning that the toll will continue to rise as the National Guard searches through rubble.
