Why, that Obama recovery is coming along so darn well that more than a million Americans went clawing for 62,000 job openings at McDonalds. Actually, I lie. They went clawing for 50,000 job openings. McDonalds just decided to expand its hiring plans in response to the application frenzy.

In case you skipped algebra in school, that means there were 20 applicants for every initially available position. Even after expanding its hiring plan, McDonalds had to turn down about 15 people for every 1 person they accepted. That’s how desperate people are for jobs.

It’s difficult enough for Americans with long employment careers and track records to get a job. Imagine how difficult it is for young Americans, just starting out on their work career, to find employment. It’s no wonder the youth unemployment rate is so high.
