WeinerGate: Congressman Posts Lewd Photo to Twitter

by Stephan Tawney on May 28, 2011

Interesting.

This evening around 11pm, a lewd photograph of an erection in underwear was posted to Congressman Anthony Weiner’s (D-NY) official Twitter feed using his official yfrog account. The Tweet was directed towards the Twitter account of some woman’s account on Twitter.

The Congressman claims that his Facebook account was hacked. But the photo was posted to both his yfrog and Twitter accounts, too. Also, all of the photos in his yfrog account were deleted around the same time the lewd photograph was removed. The woman’s Twitter account was also mysteriously deleted soon after.

Update: To be clear, I mean the Congressman’s account posted to Twitter in the headline. Whether he personally posted it or his accounts were truly hacked is, as of yet, undetermined. Though things don’t look great for him right now.

Also, if his account/s were hacked, why didn’t the hacker change his password so as to lock him out? If you’re going to get in trouble for hacking, go the distance. While you’re at it, change his recovery information, too. The hacker just popped in, dropped a picture that could be quickly deleted, and left? What a crappy hacker.
