Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary Tim “Tax Cheat” Geithner presided over the largest single increase in U.S. debt of any Treasury Secretary in history, CNS reports.
Since Geithner was confirmed by the U.S. Senate, the national debt has increased by more than $3.7 trillion, resting at its current record level of $14.34 trillion.
When Geithner took office the total national debt stood at $10.6 trillion. As of June 30, 2011, it had risen to $14.3 trillion.
Of course, Geithner simply oversaw debt increases passed by Barack Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress. But, he was supportive of their efforts and never came out against massive debt increases. In fact, he encouraged it by pushing failed Keynesian policies. So he shares in the blame.
