We now find ourselves having to ask congressmen to hold the line against a plan put forward by a Republican.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), hoping to retreat and move on from the debt ceiling debate as soon as possible, has proposed a weak plan that would give Barack Obama everything he wants and now.
The plan would increase the national debt by about $1 trillion while only cutting a few billion this year. There’s talk of bigger cuts in the future, but this Congress can’t force future Congresses to spend a certain way. So it’s only a few billion guaranteed. As for entitlements? We’ll get a commission that will end up doing nothing.
This legislation can not pass. We must hold the line and demand fiscal sanity.
Call your congressman. Tell him to hold the line against the Boehner-Obama plan to skyrocket our national debt and cut almost nothing in return.
Cut, Cap, and Balance. That’s our plan. It has two-thirds of the nation supporting it, according to a CNN poll. And it’s already passed the House. Democrats want to obstruct? That’s their business. Let them take the blame.
