And Jay Carney responds by insisting that the lack of a defined plan doesn’t mean the plan doesn’t exist or that the president hasn’t presented one. Okay. Try making sense of that one.
Speaking of Carney, is he an obnoxious ass or what? Usually you can at least say of obnoxious asses in this profession that he or she is effective as a spokesperson. But not Carney; he’s just an obnoxious ass.
In response to a request for a written plan, he accuses Ed Henry of CNN of spouting Republican talking points. Because that’s what CNN is known for: Shilling for Republicans.
Upon further request, Carney slams members of the press corps for not personally attending Barack Obama’s speech the other night — a speech which, it should be noted, didn’t produce a plan.
Carney’s ultimate defense: Obama explained his principles during his speech and that advisers to the White House would talk some more. Which is great but still not a plan. There is no Obama plan. None. Not one.
Until it’s written down, a plan can’t be scored by the CBO. Until it’s written down, a plan can’t be reviewed by the public and Congress. Until a plan is written down, it can’t be voted on. Until it’s written down, it effectively doesn’t exist.
