Disaster: Obama Loses to Rudy Giuliani…by Six Points

by Stephan Tawney on July 27, 2011

Rudy Giuliani is an undeclared candidate with almost no grassroots support and a controversial personal life. And yet The One loses to him by no fewer than six points. Mitt Romney? He beats Barack Obama by 3 points. Even Ron Paul ties the incumbent 50-50.

Also interesting: Just 8% of adults are familiar with Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI), and yet McCotter would take 43% of the vote against Obama. Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) would lose to Obama by 8 points but then only 30% of adults are familiar with him.

Worse yet for the White House: This is a poll of American adults — not likely or even registered voters. The bare “adults” demographic tends to benefit Democrats. When narrowed down to voters, Republicans tend to gain.
