The House of Representatives will now alter Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) debt plan before it’s brought up to a vote, according to reports from the hill.
The bill has been sent back to committee for alterations reportedly including a stronger Balanced Budget Amendment and cuts to the Pell Grant provision.
It’s not clear how many more cuts will be in the deal. But we’ve come a long way from “get your ass in line” to “we’ll send it back for changes you want” in just a day. A stronger BBA would be good, too.
