Just 39% of Americans approve of the job Barack Obama is doing, according to the latest daily poll by Gallup. It’s the first time Obama’s approval has fallen into the 30s.

54% of Americans disapprove of the president’s job performance. That’s also the highest recorded disapproval in Gallup polling’s history of polling for Obama.

As Drew recalls, George W. Bush falling below 40% was a story. How unpopular he is, we were reminded. Will Obama’s fall lead to the same headlines? Doubtful.

But remember, Obama is totally a moderate pragmatist loved by all but the fringe right. Or so we’ve been told. That 54% (61% counting undecideds) are just racist.

You know what I call Barack Obama’s approval rating falling to 39%? A good start.
