Texas Governor Rick Perry has overtaken former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports finds.
What’s more, the Jobs Governor has taken a commanding lead: 11 points over Romney, who is now his closest competitor for their party’s nomination.
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has fallen to third place, grabbing just 13% support.
The comes Congressman Ron Paul at 9% and businessman Herman Cain at 6%. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich grabs 5%.
Lagging far behind are former Senator Rick Santorum (PA) and former Obama Administration employee Jon Huntsman, both receiving just 1% support.
