Obama’s Approval Now Underwater in…New Jersey

While New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) has seen his highest approval in four months and enjoys a +1 rating, President Barack Obama’s approval is underwater in the Garden State. Yes, it seems even blue New Jersey has turned on President Downgrade.

President Barack Obama is headed in the wrong direction as New Jersey voters disapprove 52 – 44 percent of the job he is doing, down from a 50 – 46 percent positive score June 21 and the president’s lowest score ever in the Garden State.

93% of Republicans, 57% of Independents, and even 17% of Democrats disapprove of the job Obama is doing.

A plurality of Jersey voters (49%) say Obama doesn’t deserve reelection in 2012. Just 45% would vote to reelect him.

The tax-cutting, spending-slashing conservative governor Chris Christie, on the other hand, has seen his fortunes reversed. Voters now approve of his job performance by a 47-46% margin. He was underwater last month, but apparently positive outcomes from his policies have stopped and reversed the slide.
