Communist Party USA has settled on a candidate for 2012: Barack Obama.
That’s right; the organization, which was previously funded by the Soviet Union, has decided to endorse Obama for reelection. Because while some of his policies have angered them, overall he’s their kind of guy.
The Communist Party USA has provided an early endorsement of President Obama, saying the Democratic Party is the only party capable of winning against the Republicans next year.
In an article titled “Does it matter which party wins?” on People’s World, the official newspaper of the CPUSA; party chairman, Sam Webb, said while he is disappointed with some aspects of Obama’s policies, he is supporting the President’s re-election next year.
In the article, Webb notes that many parts of the labor movement are happy to see little difference between the Communist Party’s labor agenda and that of the Obama Administration, which has met regularly with union officials and has furthered forced unions on federal employees (the TSA for example).
Webb disagrees with the notion that they’re exactly alike, but he concludes:
Despite the many frustrations of the past two years, the election of Barack Obama was historic and gave space to struggle for a people’s agenda.
Webb also disagrees with the idea that the Republican and Democratic parties are alike. He says Democrats are far more open to his ideas and overall far less hostile towards Communism. He says that had Republicans taken the White House, Communists would have been “on the defensive from Day One”.
And he’s right. For one, we would never have hired admitted communists and 9/11 Truthers into the White House — which Obama did.
So the Communist Party is absolutely right — for once: Barack Obama is good for their agenda and Republicans would be more hostile to communism. Enjoy that endorsement, Barack.
We would never have pushed policies so Marxist that even old lefties like George McGovern opposed them — I speak, of course, of card check.
We would never have forced unions on another federal agency — like Obama did at TSA.
We would never have had a federal board stop a private company from creating jobs simply because the company wasn’t creating them in a union-dominated state — which happened.
And we would never have passed government-run health care plans that will eventually lead to the destruction of private insurance — as Barack Obama did with ObamaCare.
