DCCC Panicking in Weiner’s Old District

by Stephan Tawney on September 8, 2011

The DCCC is preparing to spend $500,000 in the deep blue (at least by national standards) district, which was previously held by now-disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner (D).

But get this, the ad they were planning to run had to be pulled. Why? Because it involved a jet (supposed to be the Republican corporate jet) flying low over New York City.

Apparently no one at Democratic headquarters thought beforehand that a jet flying low over New York City could be seen as tasteless the week of the 9/11 10-year anniversary.

It actually gets worse for David Weprin, the fiscally-ignorant moron running as a Democrat. Assemblyman Dov Hikind, a Democrat and Orthodox Jew like Weprin, came out and endorsed Republican nominee Bob Turner. Why?

“Mr. Turner’s background as a businessman gives him a unique advantage in dealing with the major financial crisis in this country,” Hikind said at a press conference in Flatbush. “His business acumen will be a welcome asset in trying to reduce the federal deficit.” Hikind also cited hios belief that electing a Republican in the heavily Democrat Brooklyn and Queens district will “send a message to President Obama about his failed, disastrous economic policies and his reckless policies toward Israel.

Democrats helping elect Republicans in New York City in the hopes of sending a message to Obama to stop with the failed economic policies.

Wow.

You’ll recall that left-leaning New York Daily News also endorsed Turner, noting Weprin’s complete ignorance about the national debt (he guessed $4 trillion). Such is the state of affairs.
