Question: Is this still not a war-war for which Congressional authorization is required?
Blowing up military targets overseas? Check. Deployment of forces and resources? Check. Boots on the ground? Check.
If this isn’t war-war, what is? Do nuclear weapons have to get involved before Obama concedes he needs approval from Congress?
Granted, the first deployment only consists of four soldiers. But they’re on the ground. They’re armed. And they’re soldiers.
And the Pentagon spokesman wouldn’t confirm or deny suggestions that additional forces would be deployed in Libya moving forward.
Obama assured the nation that we weren’t in a war-war because no U.S. boots would be on the ground. Since then officials have said that CIA operatives were in the country, and now the first troops have arrived with additional arrivals possible.
Waging a war without so much as authorization from Congress. If Bush did it the left would have a collective stroke. But it’s Obama, so not only is the unconstitutional act acceptable but it’s admirable and wise, too.
