Here’s a fun fact: Since 2000, Michele Bachmann’s home state of Minnesota has mandated that every elementary school student receive the Hepatitis B vaccination. So Bachmann’s own state — a state she represents — forces young children to be vaccinated against at least one form of Hepatitis.
In fact, according to this handy chart, just about every state mandates the Hep B vaccination for students between Kindergarten and 12th grade. It seems that mandating vaccinations is a pretty common practice across the nation.
And yet Rick Perry’s rivals attack him as if he’s crossed some previously uncrossed line. The horror of mandating vaccinations! Except, you know, when just about every other state does the same thing and these candidates say nothing about it.
