Republicans Nab Obama Jobs Bill’s Name, Turn it Into a Tax Cut

by Stephan Tawney on September 14, 2011

Hey, Republicans?

This is the offense we’ve been waiting for.

It turns out that Barack Obama hesitated too long before introducing his $400 billion+, unfunded Stimulus II in the House. So Republicans swiped the bill’s name — American Jobs Act — and introduced it as a tax cut intended to stimulate economic growth and hiring.

The sponsor is Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX).

LINKED! This is quite possibly THE funniest thing I’ve heard come out of Congress in a dozen years. Good for Louie Gohmert for being so bold!
