Feds Give Nancy Pelosi’s Brother-in-Law $737 Million “Green Jobs” Loan

by Stephan Tawney on September 29, 2011

Solyndra was hardly the only corrupt “green jobs” loan to come out of the Obama Administration.

SolarReserve LLC, a closely held renewable energy developer, received a $737 million U.S. Energy Department loan guarantee to build a solar-thermal project in Nevada.

The 110-megawatt Crescent Dunes project, near Tonopah, Nevada, will use the sun’s heat to create steam that drives a turbine, the agency said today in a e-mailed statement. SolarReserve is based in Santa Monica, California.

On its website, SolarReserve lists PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund (East) LLC. as one of its investment partners. The number two guy at PCG? Ronald Pelosi — a political insider in San Francisco and brother-in-law to Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader and former speaker.

But wait, there’s more! Because Barack Obama is about to hold a fundraiser at the home of Tom Carnahan, brother of Missouri Secretary of State (and fellow Democrat) Robin Carnahan. You’ll never guess who coincidentally got a major tax credit from the Obama Administration:

Carnahan, a member of the prominent Missouri Democratic family, has been tapped by the Obama campaign as its chief Missouri fundraiser. He is chairman of the board of Wind Capital Group, a wind energy company that makes it corporate headquarters in St. Louis. He formerly was president and CEO of the company.

Last year, Wind Capital’s Lost Creek Farm facility in northwest Missouri received a $107 million tax credit from the Treasury Department, among many such wind operations receiving support from from stimulus funds.

What a coincidence! All of these Democrats and their family members getting major, taxpayer-backed loans from the Obama Administration.

When it’s not Solyndra, it’s SolarReserve. When it’s not SolarReserve, it’s Wind Capital. When it’s not an Obama-donating billionaire investor, it’s Nancy Pelosi’s brother-in-law. When it’s not him, it’s Robin Carnahan’s brother and fundraiser for Obama’s campaign.

So the crowd that told the man on the street that Cheney and haliburton was sticking it to them . Which never was proven. Now bring us solar energy via crony capitalism. No shame usually goes with no soul – like my 75 year old mentor said to me most recently. Never thought he would be alive to see the public treasury used to buy votes by one political party. And that the truth would be so hard for americans to find. PJ in ATL
