Poll: Six in Ten Americans Say Obama’s Policies Will Fail

by Stephan Tawney on October 17, 2011

Just 46% approve of the job Barack Obama is doing and a record percentage of the population says his policies will fail, according to a new poll from CNN. 50% of Americans say they disapprove of the job Obama is doing.

According to the survey, 36% say they think the president’s policies will succeed, with 59% saying Obama’s policies will fail, up 12 points from last year and nearly double the 32% who said in 2009 that the president’s policies will fail.

Just 13% say the economy is in good shape and just 31% believe it will be in good shape by next October. Six in ten Americans predict the economy will be in bad shape next year.

Not helping? Obama’s decision to demonize the “rich”. Americans actually admire successful people, according to the poll. They’re not biting on the class warfare hook.

“Despite the high support for higher taxes on millionaires, it doesn’t look like the public is ready for class warfare. Most Americans say they have a favorable view of people who make more than a million dollars a year,” adds Holland. “One in five say they admire millionaires and only one in 20 feel resentful toward them.”

Boy, that kind of throws a wrench into Obama’s reelection campaign. He was relying on Americans blaming one another for the bad economy to deflect blame from his own failed policies. But it turns out Americans see his policies for what they are, understand that he’s failing utterly, and refuse to blame investors and small businessmen for the country’s problems.
