This is actually the second poll showing Barack Obama on the verge of losing Wisconsin next year. A poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling found him up by just three against Romney. Now Rasmussen has Perry leading him by four.
Why these results? Some insight from Public Policy Polling:
Obama continues to be unpopular in Wisconsin with only 44% of voters approving of him to 51% who disapprove.
Wisconsin, birthplace of American progressivism and the state which, until a few months ago, was represented in the Senate by Russ Feingold. This is the state in which Barack Obama has a 44% approval rating and is struggling against a flip-flopper from Massachusetts and a gun-slinger from Texas.
Note to the White House: Now is the time to panic.
