Alfonso Cano, head of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) Marxist terror group in Colombia, has been confirmed dead — killed by Colombian security forces.
Colombian forces have long been waging offensive operations against the Marxist guerrilla group, recognized internationally as a terrorist group, with the assistance of American intelligence and technological assets.
The death of Cano, apparently at the hands of Army forces who struck in his jungle territory, is a significant victory for the pro-American Colombian government.
