ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta voters have overwhelmingly approved Sunday alcohol sales, clearing the way for shoppers to be able to buy liquor as soon as New Year’s Day in stores.

Fulton County Board of Elections spokesman Mark Henderson says unofficial results show the measure has passed 81 percent to 19 percent with 93 percent of precincts reporting.
