Why? Because even liberals recognize Barack Obama is lying for political gain. He doesn’t really oppose gay marriage, he just says he does because it could otherwise cost him votes in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and other socially conservative states and demographics.
Newt Gingrich might be confident he’s got the votes to be the Republican presidential nominee, but he may have trouble convincing his own family to support him
The gay half-sister of the ex-House Speaker said Wednesday she’s going to stick with President Obama because of her sibling’s stance on same-sex marriage.
“He is definitely on the wrong side of history when it comes to those issues,” Candace Gingrich-Jones told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
Gingrich-Jones, a gay rights activist at the Human Rights Campaign, said she and her half-brother are “mutually respectful” of each other, but she would “work really, really hard to make sure that President Obama is re-elected next year no matter who the Republican candidate is.”
Gingrich, who has surged ahead as a top-tier candidate, is known for his views against gay marriage.
“I believe that marriage is between a man and woman,” he told a crowd at Fort Dodge in Iowa in September. “It has been for all of recorded history.”
Barack Obama, 2008:
I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman…For me, as a Christian, it is also a sacred union.
So she’s going to vote for the anti-gay marriage Democrat because her Republican half-brother is…anti-gay marriage. Yeah, that totally makes sense.
