Charming. The article, by the way, is about Republican candidates attending a pro-life film by Mike Huckabee. Pretty innocuous and not exactly out of the mainstream in Iowa.
But “this is CNN” so we have to describe those who favor protections for the unborn not as pro-life but “anti-abortionists”. Ace notes how misleading the headline is:
If the candidates made appeals to “anti-abortionists” that is, people particularly opposed to abortionists over and above those simply opposed to abortions, it’s not evident from the report. And that’s a key distinction.
Indeed. Anyone who’s been paying attention to anything outside of DNC talking points would know that pro-life individuals oppose abortion, not “abortionists”.
I actually think it’s a shady attempt to link pro-life Americans to the horrid activities of a select few, like the guy who murdered a famous abortion doctor a few years back.
