A prominent Democratic senator shocked aides to disgraced former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine (D) by savaging him during Senate hearing on the collapse of his firm MF Global, from which more than $1.2 billion in investor money went missing.
Why the shock? Because it seems Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich) only attacked him publicly after he refused to sign a check for her campaign.
“She would literally call once every two or three weeks,” one Corzine intimate said of Sen. Debbie Stabenow (DMich.).
“She called all the time.”…
Sources in Corzine’s inner circle said they were “stunned” and “amazed” by Stabenow’s attack.
The two had served together in the Senate, but Corzine hasn’t delivered with contributions in some time.
So far this year, Corzine’s name has not appeared on Stabenow’s campaign finance reports.
Records show he last donated to her in 2006, contributing $2,000. Corzine and his then-wife, Joanne, each gave Stabenow $1,000 in 1999.
Keeping in mind, when I say $1.2 billion was lost by MF Global I don’t mean the company made bad investments and lost them. I mean they don’t know where the money went. It’s gone. Missing. Nowhere to be found. It was there and now it’s not.
Meanwhile, as that money was going missing and the company collapsing, Corzine was bundling money for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Regulators were apparently looking the other way while that investor money was getting misplaced. Odd.

Does it really matter whether or not Stabenow was pissed because Corzine didn’t contribute to her campaign funds?? It seems to me that this is just a deflection of the issue at hand! The focus should be firstly, where is the money and secondly putting Corzine behind bars! Anything else is irrelevant unless it turns out that the missing money is in some crooked politician’s pocket!

Does it matter if she was motivated in her criticism by her inability to shake him down? Yes, I believe it does.
Focusing on Corzine and ignoring Stabenow is an attempt to deflect from those still in positions of power (Stabenow) to direct all fire on a guy for which it’s too late to save his reputation (Corzine). No thank you.
