Whoopi Goldberg: Communism Would Work if We Get the Right Person

by Stephan Tawney on December 21, 2011

Today’s friendly reminder that these folks are more than just left-wing. They’re downright apologists for Communism.

Joy Behar: By the way, Saddam Hussein who is now taken out, dead. He also liked American culture. It didn’t- In other words, it doesn’t always matter.

Whoopi Goldberg: No, it doesn’t matter. Because, you know, if you say that this is how our culture is and then you send your child to a Swiss boarding school -You know, this is what happens with communism. It’s a great concept. On paper it makes perfect sense.

But once you put a human being in power, it shifts. We saw it in Russia, we’ve seen it all around the world. It’s nuts. But, I keep my fingers crossed.

It’s funny how communism is never to blame for a communist system’s inevitable failure. It’s always the person who implemented the communist system that gets the blame.

Never mind the fact that no matter how many ways it gets implemented, no matter how many different regions of the world implement it, no matter the strategy of implementation, it always — inevitably — fails.

No, the left continues to insist the system would work fine if only the right person implemented it.

Well you know if? Let’s assume that’s true. Let’s assume that the right person just has yet to be found. We’ll forget that the system is inherently flawed and simply doesn’t work. Forget that for argument’s sake.

If a system only works on pins and needles, relying on one solitary, hard-to-find person, and still mortal person, then it doesn’t work. Because that person doesn’t live forever. Sooner or later the reigns get handed to someone else. And as we’ve accepted, not just anyone can manage the system. Its efficiency relies on the location of a single, hard-to-find person that has yet to be found since the very conception of communism.
