Of course not. A nice reminder from Allahpundit.
This is a guy who regularly goes on Alex Jones’ conspiracy show and who has flirted in the past with trutherism. His newsletters pushed a theory that Israel was behind the 1993 World Trade Center attack.
He’s probably not entirely convinced Bin Laden (or Al Qaeda) had anything to do with the 9/11 attacks. He’s probably more convinced that it was all a government/Israeli conspiracy to drag us into a war.
“I don’t think it was necessary, no. It absolutely was not necessary,” he said, citing the rules of international law regarding respect for national sovereignty. “I would suggest the way they got Khalid [Sheikh] Mohammed. We went and cooperated with Pakistan. They arrested him, actually, and turned him over to us, and he’s been in prison. Why can’t we work with the government?”
Because since then the Pakistani government has protected members of the Taliban and Al Qaeda?
Because our intelligence indicated Bin Laden was living in an area where he could only be living if the Pakistani government were hiding him?
Because if we said anything in advance we would never have seen him again?
But none of this matters to Captain Absolutist Nutcase. Reality doesn’t enter his sphere of philosophy.
His theories work in a vacuum but nowhere else. We acted in our own self defense, neutralizing an international terrorist who murdered 3,000 of own people. And we recognized Pakistan was hiding him.
But Captain Absolutist Nutcase would have us talk to Pakistan first and watch as Bin Laden then slipped away.
