No crap. Until now you had us all fooled, Sammy.
One bright spot: Jackson now recognizes that Obama’s been a clusterfark.
I voted for Barack because he was black. ’Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them,” the actor recently told Ebony magazine via Page Six. “That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean [bleep] to me.”
Jackson, who skipped the Oscars to campaign for Obama four years ago, expressed his disappointment in the president, complaining that “in the end, he’s a politician.”
“I just hoped he would do some of what he said he was gonna do,” Jackson said. “I know politicians say [bleep]; they lie. ’Cuz they want to get elected.”
He’ll still vote for Obama. In fact, he attended a fundraiser for the president earlier this month.
Because, again, actual policies and achievements get trumped by skin color. For the left side of the aisle, at least.
Think this would work the other way? Let’s game that one, just for fun.
Let’s say Democrats dump Obama and nominate Joe Biden. Or even Hillary Clinton. So Democrats are now running a white person. Now let’s say Republicans nominate Allen West. They’re running a black person.
Do you think white Republicans would line up behind Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton just because they’re white? If you do, you don’t know Republicans. Allen West could have the nomination tomorrow if he wanted it. And just about every white Republican in the country would line up behind him.
And there’s the difference. West would get the nomination and support of white Republicans because he’s a solid conservative, veteran of the military, and eloquent spokesman for the party and ideology. Obama needs to rely on class warfare, beneficent racism, and blind allegiance in the face of reality. It’s a stark contrast.
