On one hand, are there really that many non-Muslims requesting Korans? And wouldn’t this make some Muslims pissed because it inhibits the ability to convert people to Islam?
On the other hand, why is the military treating one religion’s book like it’s a separate, protected class? What if a soldier fighting Islamic terrorists actually wants to, you know, understand their religious motivations?
If the Afghan inhabitants of the 16th century decide tomorrow that Harry Potter is a sacred text do we ban non-Muslims from having that book, too? Does anything Muslims consider sacred become off-limits for others?
It’s a stupid policy and moronic overreaction.
