Atlanta police have secured an arrest warrant for rapper Radric Davis, who goes by the stage name Gucci Mane, following the alleged assault of American soldier and combat veteran in a downtown bar last week.
The soldier, not fully identified publicly but a combat veteran who returned from Afghanistan last October, reportedly asked the rapper for a photo. It was then that Mane allegedly hit the soldier over the head with a champagne bottle. A member of Mane’s entourage allegedly then hit the veteran again.
The victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. There his head wound was closed with what he says were 10 stitches. Photos of the injury were provided to the media. Police confirm an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault exists for the rapper, who was confirmed to be at the club on the night of the alleged incident.
In addition to his rap career, Mane is currently a featured member of the cast of Harmony Korine’s new film “Spring Breakers”, starring Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, and Selena Gomez. The film, which just opened today, is rated “R” and features onscreen nudity, sexual activity, and drug use.
